You can use visualization - There a lot of untrained singers who sing from the bottom of their throat, which is wrong because they lose the key to their projection. The right thing to do is imagine that your voice coming out from your nose to improve your vocals. In learning to sing, visualization is a big help. 

You must sing with confidence - In singing, confidence is very important because it will help you in performing better. And if you are performing in front of a crowd, you must make a projection that you are confident so you will make a better performance. Always believe in yourself that you can do it and you have what it takes to become the best singer. If you're confident it will show in your performance and the crowd can easily see it. 

Good air support - If you want to produce a quality voice and a better performance, you have to have a good air support, which means proper breathing technique is very important. Fill your stomach with a lot of air and release it when necessary. With enough air in your system you can carry out notes and tunes easily. 

Warm up your voice - Before every performance and even practice, it is very important to warm up your voice first. A good performance is attributed to a good warm up exercise. You can perform best if you have taken the time to warm up your voice. This is to avoid straining your voice. It will also prepare your voice for a singing session. You should practice scales from lower to higher notes so that your vocals will stretch. Every singer, before they perform they always see to it that they do warm ups. 

Importance of water - To make your voice perform better, you should drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Water serves as a lubricant for your vocal chords. It can help your vocal chords perform better also. Water is very important for singers, but always makes sure that you don't drink cold water because it will strain your voice and your vocal chords. 

Sing only in your range - It is important that you sing only in your voice range. Avoid imitating your favourite singer who doesn't have the same voice range as yours. Imitating other singers will only cause your vocal chords to strain. And always remember that everyone has their own voice and you cannot exactly imitate other singer's voice. 

Avoid greasy and cheesy foods - The last thing that you should always bear in mind is that you should stay away from cheesy and greasy foods because these foods are natural phlegm producers and will damage your vocals if you consume too much of it.
